Jess earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from East Tennessee State University, following the completion of her Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science at the University of Alabama. Her early participation in competitive gymnastics and swimming fostered a deep interest in orthopedics and sports physical therapy, which continues to inform her clinical practice.
Since entering the field, Jess has developed a strong professional interest in the treatment of runners, general orthopedic conditions, functional strength training, and, more recently, Pilates. Drawing on her background in gymnastics, she has cultivated a particular expertise in injury prevention through cross-training mechanics. She has delivered educational presentations at several local gymnastics facilities, focusing on the role of cross-training in injury prevention.
Her clinical experience spans a variety of settings and patient populations, orthopedics, sports, home health care, and patients engaged in weightlifting and pilates. She is also trained in blood flow restriction therapy.
A native of Atlanta, Georgia, Jess has enjoyed NYC, and has embraced new interests, including Pilates. In her leisure time, she enjoys traveling to the beach, studying the stock market, and watching sunsets.
