Estella Maritza Mejia, PT, DPT, was born and raised in sunny South Florida. Bilingual in both English and Spanish, she has a deep-rooted connection to her diverse community and strives to make her services accessible to as many people as possible. From a young age, she had a natural curiosity about the human body and a creative spark fueled by her love for art, which ultimately guided her toward the field of physical therapy.

Estella completed a double major in Recreation and Sports Management and Interdisciplinary Studies at Florida International University. Her fascination with the body's mechanics and ability to heal through movement only deepened with time, leading her to pursue a Doctorate of Physical Therapy at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. Here her passion for pelvic health blossomed; she co-founded the Pelvic Floor Special Interest Group in her first year and before graduating had completed Herman and Wallace Pelvic Floor Level 1 certification.

During her time in graduate school, Estella also discovered that she was on the hypermobility spectrum, which sparked her interest in connective tissue disorders, including Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (EDS), Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS), and Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS). This personal experience led her to explore and develop a keen interest in these complex and chronic conditions, further shaping her understanding of the body's mechanics and the need for individual personalized care.

After graduating, Estella began working as a Pelvic Floor Physical Therapist in Delray Beach, Florida where she worked with both men and women experiencing a variety of pelvic floor dysfunctions. While this experience was immensely rewarding, Estella sought a change of scenery and new opportunities to expand her outreach, which led her to continue her journey in the field of pelvic health and rehabilitation in New York.

Estella's love for movement, her commitment to health, and her natural ability to connect with others make her a dedicated and compassionate physical therapist. She is always seeking new ways to learn and grow in her profession, ensuring that her patients receive the highest quality of personalized care possible.

Outside of work, Estella loves to travel, explore new places and foods, cook, create art, thrift, dance and work out.
