Mentorship At Cynergy

Mentorship at Cynergy: A culture of continuous learning and mutual respect where all staff, regardless of their experience level, feel valued and contribute equally to the collective knowledge and improvement of the department.

Led by the Director of Mentorship, Amira Murtazaeva PT, DPT, CFSC, we encourage all members of staff to ask questions whenever they arise–creating a culture where asking questions and admitting gaps in knowledge are seen as strengths.

Implemented for all staff, through two particular initiatives: New Grad Mentorship & Junior Grad Mentorship.

New Grad Mentorship:

Goal: Enhance clinical skills and help you transition them into being used for a full-time caseload as you expand your skill set.

Upon initial onboarding (about 3 months), you will meet with your paired mentor on a weekly basis. Your paired mentor will guide you in related areas of expertise and together, you will discover and address the areas in which you need more support. You then will meet with your mentor on day 60 and day 90, which will be coordinated for you.

Junior Grad Mentorship:

Goal: Enhance clinical skills and help you transition them into being used for a full-time caseload as you expand your skill set

Similar to New Grads, Junior Grads will meet with their paired mentor on a weekly basis. After initial onboarding, mentorship will continue on a monthly basis, where you have the opportunity to visit other Cynergy clinics to further enhance your skills, as coordinated by the Director of Mentorship.

Mentorship is currently accepting prospective DPT students and pre-med students, who are interested in expanding their knowledge of physical therapy, on a rolling basis. This will include, but will not be limited to, shadowing a physical therapist at Cynergy and getting first hand exposure to the field of orthopedic physical therapy.

Employees Agree: Mentorship Matters

“The Physical Therapy Mentorship Program at Cynergy has been beneficial in my growth and development as a new graduate physical therapist. Through the program, I have strengthened my hands-on skills and received guidance and support from our experienced senior therapists who have helped me refine my clinical skills and approach to patient care. Each therapist brings their own specialty: Mike has helped widen my assessment skills, Laurence has made me feel more confident in treating pre/postpartum women, and Christine has furthered my ability to treat various hand and upper extremity conditions. The structured mentorship has provided me with opportunities to observe and discuss complex cases, allowing me to more confidently navigate challenging treatment plans. Additionally, the feedback and personalized advice from mentors has strengthened my critical thinking and decision-making abilities. Overall, the mentorship program has accelerated my transition and expanded my “toolbox,” fostering both my professional and personal growth.”
