Amira Murtazaeva is a New York licensed physical therapist who received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy at Gannon University in Ruskin, Florida, and a Bachelor’s in Psychology from CUNY-Queens College. She is originally from Samarkand, Uzbekistan, and moved to Queens, NY with her family at a young age. Amira’s career at Cynergy began during her last clinical affiliation as a student and later to a full-time Physical Therapist.
Prior to moving to Florida, she gained experience as a physical therapy aide and familiarized herself with various orthopedic conditions including sports-related injuries, post-surgical rehabilitation, balance impairments, cervical and lumbar spine disorders.
This led her to complete the majority of her clinical affiliations in orthopedic and sports-based settings to further establish and refine her manual therapy skills and knowledge base. Amira places importance on treating every patient as an individual and providing a plan of care that is tailored to their specific needs.
Amira prides herself in providing evidence-based practice in conjunction with patient goals to ensure optimal patient outcomes and quality care. She considers herself a very detail-oriented person and strives to be a well-rounded clinician. Amira’s passion to educate and treat led her to volunteer in a rural clinic in Alajuela, Costa Rica where she was able to immerse herself in local culture from within by living with a host family.
In her spare time, she enjoys working out, cooking, baking, reading, hiking, and exploring new places with her fiancé, who is also a physical therapist. Amira is a polyglot, fluent in Russian, Uzbek, and Tajik and she enjoys working with patients from all different backgrounds and cultures.
