Emily Gayeski, PT, DPT brings nearly two decades of experience as a Pilates Instructor and professional dancer to her work as a Physical Therapist.  Though her background as a dancer feeds her love of movement analysis and a deep appreciation for the body’s intelligence and design, it was Emily’s enthusiasm for working one-on-one with her Pilates students that drove her to pursue a career in Physical Therapy. Emily strives to educate her patients not only about their diagnosis, prognosis and plan of care but about the mind-body connection that can facilitate healing and lasting change. She believes that cultivating awareness of movement patterns is a way to empower people to own their recovery and provides a tool for future self-management.

Emily holds a Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Hunter College and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of North Carolina, Winston-Salem, NC.

She has completed clinical affiliations in acute bedside, neurological inpatient and orthopedic outpatient settings. Additionally, she is a certified Pilates Instructor through the Kane School of Core Integration and was promoted to Master Teacher status at Bodytonic Pilates Gymnasium in Brooklyn where she taught the dedicated clients for 16 years. She is a certified Schroth Scoliosis Therapist (C1) by SSOL for the conservative management of scoliosis. She has also completed courses in continuing education through the Institute of Physical Art and looks forward to many more.
