Zoe Ma is a New York State Licensed Physical Therapist who received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from CUNY College of Staten Island, graduating with the Physical Therapy Department Faculty Award for Excellence in Physical Therapy. Prior to pursuing her DPT, Zoe graduated from Stony Brook University with a B.S. in Health Science, with a concentration in Environmental Health and Safety and a minor in Biology.
Zoe has always lived an active lifestyle, competing in school's handball team throughout high school and college. Throughout the years, she also began participating in kickboxing and powerlifting. Her interest in sports combined with her passion to enter the healthcare field led her to pursue a career in physical therapy. Zoe was fortunate to have one of her clinical rotations at Cynergy where she honed her skills in manual therapy and corrective exercises working alongside patients with various sports related injuries. Her other clinical rotations included working with patients in the post-surgical cardiothoracic critical care unit and COVID-19 intensive care unit at Staten Island University Hospital as well as patients with orthopedic joint replacements at Maimonides Medical Center.
Zoe understands each patient's condition is unique and prides herself on building strong connections with her patients to empower them to actively take part in their rehabilitative journey. She is always striving to expand her skill sets through her peers and continuing education courses to become a well-rounded clinician. Her philosophy is to utilize individualized treatment plans to address underlying factors that may be contributing to patients' current symptoms so they can maximize their function and return to their pain free active lifestyle.
In her free time, Zoe enjoys powerlifting, traveling, hiking and trying new foods with her family and friends. Be sure to give her any good recommendations when you see her!
