Raymond Nguyen, MS, OTR/L is a New York and New Jersey State Licensed Occupational Therapist who specializes in the rehabilitation of the upper extremity and in the fabrication of custom orthoses for a multitude of hand, wrist, and elbow injuries. He earned his Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy at New York University, and has directly trained under one of the first Hand Therapists to be certified in the United States.
Raymond began his specialization in hand therapy through his clinical experiences in various hand and upper extremity practices and with a deep appreciation of the human anatomy. Having performed cadaver dissections and observing live surgeries, Raymond has extensive knowledge and understanding of orthopedic and musculoskeletal conditions that may be impairing a patient’s function.
He is also a major proponent of individualized, one-on-one care and combines evidence-based practices with client-centered approaches in order to deliver the highest quality therapy through the use of modalities, manual interventions, and therapeutic activities and exercises. Because of Raymond’s background in neuropsychology, he also believes that successful therapy integrates creativity and a fun experience in order to maximize return to function while minimizing pain or discomfort. Raymond continues to expand his clinical knowledge and expertise through continuing education courses and attending conferences.
When he isn’t treating in the clinic, he enjoys international travel, playing his ukulele, building computers, and cooking.
