Katherina Shen, MS, OTR/L, earned her Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from Stony Brook University, where she developed a strong clinical focus in upper extremity rehabilitation for orthopedic conditions. She previously completed her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, graduating as valedictorian of her class.
Katherina has experience in multiple outpatient hand therapy settings, working with both adult and pediatric populations with orthopedic and post-stroke conditions. She is passionate about helping patients regain the functional skills needed to participate independently and confidently in their daily activities.
Her treatment approach integrates evidence-based practice, creativity, and patient-centered care to develop personalized therapy plans tailored to each individual. Patients can expect a collaborative and supportive environment where their goals, lifestyle, and cultural or religious values are respected and incorporated into treatment. Katherina works closely with each patient to ensure therapy reflects what matters most to them in their everyday lives.
She also values a collaborative rehabilitation process and works closely with the physical therapists on her team to create coordinated treatment plans that support efficient and well-rounded recovery.
Katherina believes the most meaningful outcomes occur when therapy aligns with each patient’s personal goals, empowering them to return to the activities that bring purpose and independence to their lives.
