Assistant Clinical Director – Midtown East
Dr. Jeffrey Walsh began his academic career at Rutgers University where he received a Bachelor’s of Science in exercise science. Jeff then went on to receive a Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Long Island University. Jeff’s particular clinical interests lie in manual therapy and rehabilitative exercises that allow a patient to return to pain-free optimal function. He is a credentialed Certified Functional Manual Therapist, completing his certification through the Institute of Physical Arts in Steamboat Springs, Colorado.
After having worked in different settings, Jeff has come to embrace the functional manual therapy (FMT) principles to assist his patient's in reaching their full potential. Every patient has their own habits, behaviors, past experiences and ways of moving that make them unique. Using the FMT principles allows him to break down how his patients’ bodies are moving as a whole and create a plan to return an individual to their optimal capacity.
Jeff has had a lifelong involvement in sports and continues to play soccer and basketball. He has also competed in numerous races and has completed the NYC Marathon for Memorial Sloan Kettering Center as part of Fred’s Team. Jeff also enjoys strength training and has experience in CrossFit. Being involved in sports has led him to emphasize giving his patients the tools they need to continue an active and healthy lifestyle after they’ve recovered in physical therapy.
Jeff's areas of expertise include:
- Orthopedic Rehabilitation
- Sports Injuries and Return to Sport
